Chrysanthemum Exhibition at Shinjuku Gyoen
Shinjuku Gyoen park holds its annual Chrysanthemum Exhibition every year in autumn. During the exhibition period, spectacular flowerbeds of colorful blooms are housed under protective covers for visitors to enjoy and photograph at their leisure.
Chrysanthemums are considered the symbolic seasonal flower of autumn in Japan: in addition to their imperial connections, their image even emblazons the Japanese passport. For those who enjoy a crisp November stroll, the many varieties of flower are a delightful sight in what is already one of Tokyo’s most picturesque settings. You will be required to pay the admission fee to enter the gardens in order to view the exhibition. The exhibition will be lit up after sunset for special illuminated viewing between 17:30 and 19:30 from Novemeber 8th to 13th.
