Discover the Hidden Side of Harajuku: An Area Guide
A tourist hotspot known for its unique contri...
Tokyu Plaza at the confluence of Harajuku and Omotesando – with the photogenic, mirror-laden entrance – has long been a hub of youth culture in Tokyo. Starting July 18, the stores in Tokyu Plaza will offer Barbie-themed cosmetics and and apparel, including actual Barbie dolls; a collaboration set with Moroccan Oil; and a Holistic Cures blowdryer. For each purchase, you get a Barbie sticker. From August 8 to August 14, for a purchase of ¥3000 or more, you will receive a scratch card, making you eligible for up to ¥5000 in coupons and lunch boxes. In addition to the Barbie products, stores will sport a pink logo and visitors can enjoy a life-size mannequin display. From storefronts to the packaging, the entire building will hearken to the world of Barbie.
