Ayaka Horiuchi: In the Bat of an Eye
By using film photography, Ayaka Horiuchi ponders the photographers’ role and vision in the action of capturing an image. The instant a photo is taken, the final image will differ from what the photographer initially wished to record. The outcome represents that split second that the photographer could not see. To what extent was it the photographer’s decision to capture that fleeting moment? In this solo exhibition, Horiuchi displays a photo series shot entirely on film that focuses on everyday life simplicities, moments that vanish in the bat of an eye.
