12 Needle Felt Paintings by Ikuyo Fujita

Art

Ikuyo Fujita, a needle felt artist, exhibits 12 artworks from her new picture book, Yasashi-Mori (meaning: Kind Neighbors in a Forest). The picture book is a heartwarming story of a little rabbit’s adventure and friendship in a forest. The artworks are created through a style of needle felt art Fujita invented called “needle felt painting.” She uses felt, wool and beads to make realistic 3D-like animal art on canvas. Fujita has displayed her work at art shows in New York, Paris, Portugal and Switzerland. At this exhibition, in addition to work from the picture book, visitors can see Fujita’s latest artwork, Bunny’s Toy Factory, and other pieces.
