UK photographer and long-term Tokyo resident Jim Bingham explores the duality of space in a series of monochrome photographs taken between 2011 and 2023. He has captured over 800 images in this collection. A select few have been carefully curated to explore the binary theme and have been re-sized to a 1×1 crop for claustrophobic intimacy and tightly focused contemplation.
The portrait section of the exhibition invites you to observe Tokyo’s residents, devoid of identity and removed from context. These spontaneous images are an unguarded exploration of the spectrum of emotional reactions an urban environment elicits.
The exhibition will open on the evening of June 17 with a party (bar included) from 7pm. The party will run until 9pm.
