Hello Kitty Japan is a new type of Sanrio store created especially for visitors from abroad! Following the opening of the first store at Haneda Airport in 2010, Sanrio has launched six additional stores in places popular with tourists. That includes the Tokyo Solamachi location, which has been in business since 2012.

The theme of Hello Kitty Japan is Sanrio characters in Japanese style, but the Solamachi location introduced the original concept of digitalization. With the 2020 Olympics in mind and visitors on the rise, Hello Kitty is shown in kimono with glasses-free 3D, and welcomes visitors in Japanese and English.

With the reopening of the store, 43 new Japanese-style items featuring Sanrio characters in collaboration with Tokyo Skytree launched February 1. Items include key rings, stationery and more.  Those who make a purchase will receive complimentary gifts on a first-come-first-served basis.
