Summer festivals are a big part of Japanese culture, and from Hokkaido to Okinawa, different areas practice different dances and other festival traditions.

At Happo-en gardens this August 23 and 24, you can see many of those traditions on display at once place in a two-hour matsuri dancing spectacular.

The dances on display come from Tokyo’s Koenji (via Tokushima), Okinawa, Tottori, Saitama and more. There’s even a modern dance on display celebrating the upcoming Olympic games.

Also in attendance is OMOTENASHI Selection, a program that discovers and certifies high-quality commodities from around the country. OMOTENASHI Selection will exhibit more than 100 products which won the “OMOTENASHI Selection 2018” designation.

With so much to do and see in one place, Matsuri Japan 2018 is a great way to end the summer.
