Shaved Ice Made From Nikko Ice Hits Aoyama

Yoku Moku, the dessert maker best known for its cigar-shaped cookies, is preparing to launch its latest sweet offering, shaved ice, this June 20.

The shaved ice, which will be offered at the brand’s Blue Brick Lounge in Aoyama, is made with ice all the way from Nikko, the famous sightseeing spot to the north of Tokyo. Nikko ice is known for producing shaved ice with a light, fluffy texture that’s been compared to cotton candy for the way it melts in your mouth.

Two flavors are on offer: strawberry and green tea azuki bean. Both syrups contain condensed milk foam for an even richer taste, and the the shaved ice is served in a dish based on traditional Japanese paper.

From Monday to Saturday, Blue Brick Lounge is open until 11pm, making this shaved ice a perfect after-dinner dessert or even a quick pick-me-up after a long day at the office.
