Oedo-Onsen-Monogatari Urayasu Mangekyo, a large-scale spa entertainment facility with 38 baths including a pure hot spring, will be hosting some special events this the summer. Aside from the spa, the facility has restaurants, accommodations, relaxation services and more.

Between July 28 and September 30, the open-air bath features a replica of the inner palace of Edo Castle, where the shogun’s consort, concubines and other women once lived. The seven pillars around the bath are actually aquariums holding colorful goldfish meant to symbolize these Edo-period women.

The entrance area, with its downtown Edo atmosphere, is a great spot to take a selfie with the goldfish, which were popular pets in the Edo period. Another selfie spot is the huge garden-themed terrarium located in the main area of the facility.

Projection mapping will light up the biggest bath, Otaki no Yu, three times a day between July 13 and September 30.

The popularity of the projection mapping show is second only to that of the foam party, which is held twice daily on weekends and holidays between July 14 and September 2.
