Since the opening of Gonpachi’s first location in 2001, it has become been a well-loved restaurant by people from home and abroad. In 2002, the historical izakaya meeting between former President George W. Bush and former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi was held at its Nishi Azabu location. It is also famous for being the model for the restaurant in the Quentin Tarantino movie Kill Bill. Its decor evokes the good old days of Japan with a nostalgic and lively atmosphere.

May 30 saw the opening of Gonpachi Nori-Temaki Harajuku, Gonpachi’s 12th location, which offers hand-rolled sushi in a relaxing traditional and cultural atmosphere.

Nori seaweed is a Japanese superfood that’s packed with vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and more. Gonpachi picks only the highest quality nori for its sushi. Guests can also choose cauliflower rice, which is low in sugar and high in nutrition. High-quality nori, a variety of fresh seafood and good rice make Gonpachi’s hand-rolled sushi a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
