Japan’s rainy season has officially begun, and if you’re anything like us, last year’s umbrella seems to have mysteriously vanished (read: been forgotten at a convenience store).

Not to fear, as a new style of umbrella is here just in time to keep us high and dry more conveniently than ever before.

It is called the rumbrella Basic, and that extra “r” isn’t a typo – it symbolizes the actual shape of the umbrella’s handle. The r shape, designed for urban dwellers, allows users to hook bags to the umbrella.

This deceptively simple bit of design genius actually debuted back in 2015, but the new Basic version, which is also equipped with a non-slip tip, retails for a reasonable ¥3,700.

It’s out June 15, and will be sold both online and at retailers like Tokyu Hands.
