This long weekend, indulge in an evening of jazz with acclaimed American musician Kyle Eastwood.

Sure, he may be legendary actor’s Clint Eastwood’s offspring, but the jazz virtuoso carved his own path to success. He grew up listening to his parents’ collection of jazz albums, and quickly decided that being a musician was better suited to him than, say, acting. After playing some gigs around New York and LA, he formed his own quartet, then released a first CD in 1998.

Fast forward to now, and Eastwood’s discography includes six releases – and he’s contributed music to eight of his father’s films, including Gran Torino, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Theme Song in 2008. His current band includes a strong line up, including trumpeter Quentin Collins and saxophonist Graeme Blevins.

Eastwood is performing for a string of shows this long weekend at Tokyo’s largest jazz club – reserve a seat for a relaxed atmosphere and welcome escape from the heat and outdoor buzz.
