If you can get past the creative names, you might actually enjoy this day of classic rock tributes.

Somehow, Japan seems to have more tribute bands than any other country. And for some reason, it works pretty well, and they can be quite convincing. If you’re looking for a way to spice up your national holiday (Monday 15th), head out to Hibiya to bang your head along some serious rock.

The fun starts with the names, so here’s an idea of the line-up: Hattallica (as Metallica), The Beggars (as The Rolling Stones), Jimisen (as Jimi Hendrix) – all apparently famous on the local ‘scene’ – alongside additional performers Mr Jimmy (as Led Zeppelin), Townzen (as The Who), aDIOs (as Dio), Gunmen Showers (as Guns ‘n Roses) and the cherry on top of the sundae, Queer (as Queen).

Unfortunately this is one open-air concert that isn’t free, but if their sense of humour is reflected into their stage antics (which we hear are fantastic), this could be a really fun way to enjoy all those classic songs in one event, and have a perhaps less than relaxed afternoon in the park…
