Fuji Rock brings its yearly promo event back to Shibuya, with food stalls from the festival, footage and music from last year and a little taste of what’s to come taking over the entrance to the Parco department store and its Gan-Ban record/ticket shop: no hiking boots required.
Those of you going to the festival itself can get your merch in advance, with the shop selling its collaboration and branded goods well ahead of time, meaning you can look dapper while you scoot past the lines of prospective punters at the festival entrance come the end of July.
A lottery will be held with goods up for grabs to anyone purchasing their Fuji Rock tickets at the event, and if you aren’t in luck and almost all spent up you might find a bargain, with some reduced stock set to be on sale.
The Fuji Rock lineup for 2013 looks pretty spectacular yet again, with Bjork, Nine Inch Nails and The Cure taking headline duties and acts such as The xx, My Bloody Valentine, Foals, Mumford & Sons, Jurassic 5, Tame Impala, Flying Lotus and Cat Power stand outs for us (take a look for yourself here…)
Look out for an interview with a couple of the bands who will be playing in the July issue of Tokyo Weekender – or head back to our interview with Dustin Wong and Takako Minekawa, who will also play (suitably on the Sunday afternoon).
More info on Fuji Rock Days can be found in English here.
The event runs on Saturday and Sunday July 6 and 7 between 10am and 8pm.
