Halloween season is the best time to either get to the cinema (or sit on the couch with a DVD) and watch (or re-watch) our favourite horror classics: from Psycho to Texas Chainsaw Massacre  -or perhaps Beetlejuice and Casper if you scare easily… Tokyo International Film Festival is giving added reason for having a fright night.

A couple of days before Halloween, the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) will hold a special Halloween Cinema Night to offer a networking opportunity to cineaste and cinema fans. The event takes place during the TIFF, in alliance with Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia.

The Halloween-themed party (which invites you to get dressed up as your favourite cinema character) will be a night for film fans to enjoy at the swanky Le Baron de Paris in Ayoama.

As a symbol of Green TIFF, the Green Carpet will be rolled out at the door to welcome the party guests. Luxury bubbly brand Moet & Chandon will be the official sponsor, which means you can win a gold bottle of the champagne if you are the best dressed cinema character.

Beyond the Halloween theme and the sparkly drinks, Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia aims “to support up-and-coming cineastes, as short films are an established art form, the “first step” to realizing the dreams of young filmmakers around the world.”

Dig in your closet for your best costume, and come celebrate a Halloween party with an interesting angle…
