Father Kevin Lee admits he has been secretly married to a Filipina for over a year now. The Australian priest claims he has fallen in love while serving for 20 years in Glenmore Park, Sydney. He says he hopes his revelation will show the public that he is not the only one “living a double life”. He further added that he pitied “sacrificing” priests who deny themselves a relationship. Lee also urges the abolition of celibacy as a prerequisite for a being minister in the Catholic religion. Because of his public confession, Lee has been removed as parish priest and excommunicated by the church. Bishop Anthony Fisher, the head of the diocese, contested Lee’s claim that other priests live double lives.
