Bilingual improv-comedy group the Pirates of Tokyo Bay will perform tonight (Sunday) at the What the Dickens pub in Ebisu. The group has around a dozen members, who improvise their way through the show competing for laughs and points from the crowd, aiming to be champion for a night!

Osaka in 2005 was the starting point for the troupe – the Pirates of Dotombori was the name then – but now in Tokyo they are going from strength to strength. Invited to Beijing and Hong Kong, giving TEDxTokyo talks, and generally increasing the laughter, the group seem to be having a great time in Tokyo. You may even have caught them on Japanese TV!

If you can’t get there, check out the other shows in May and June – this is a group to keep your eyes on.

Check out the group’s website here, or have a look at their Facebook page for more details.
