According to the Michelin Guide, Tokyo has a culinary reputation that puts many of fabulous cities to shame.

While I can’t comment on the latest gastronomic delights of Tokyo, I can tell you that Victoria’s newest restaurant, Ulla, is a refreshing addition to the dining scene in the charming capital. Located on Fisgard Street in the historic Chinatown (the oldest in Canada), the restaurant features a delectable menu specializing in seasonal, local and ethical ingredients in a simple but stylish space.

Celebrating new beginnings with friends Lisa and Katherine, we savored and shared several delicious dishes including wild salmon on parsnip puree, and quinoa, grilled veggies and handmade tortellini salad (with bubbly, of course).

Yet another reason to visit this charming city on the coast.
