If you are looking to go out for New Year’s but don’t want to party with the teenagers, here is an event with class and style. Tokyo Blue Note celebrates the new year with Incognito, a jazz-funk band from the UK and special guest Joycelyn Brown. Incognito is the perfect live band to ring in the new year as their soulful, funky music will have your head bopping at the very least. Founder Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick (producer and guitarist), originally from the 70s funk group Light of the World, formed Incognito in the early 80s and went on to be recognized as a leader in the jazz funk scene. Bluey himself has produced for the likes of Paul Weller and Chaka Kahn so if you have not heard of Incognito before, New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to hear their uplifting sounds and be inspired by the powerful voice of Joycelyn Brown.
