Annual Summer Festival of Suwa Shrine, Tachikawa, on the outskirts of Tokyo, features Sumo Taikai (sumo tournament) for children in the precincts from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the 22nd, a parade of mikoshi and floats on the city’s main streets from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd (passing near JR Tachikawa Station at around 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.).

Shishi-mai (Lion Dance) is performed in the precincts of the Shrine from 4 p.m. on the 22nd and the 23rd.
