Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama (German School Tokyo Yokohama)
The German School of Tokyo Yokohama (DSTY) was founded in 1904 and is fully recognized by the German and Japanese states for entry into tertiary education.
The campus consists of three distinct schools, pre-school/kindergarten, primary, and secondary school.
Spacious building, excellent facilities, library and laboratories, playing fields, large gym, indoor swimming pool.
Kindergarten – Mornings and afternoons on selected days, 3-6 years, approx. 60 children.
Primary – Grade 1-4. German curriculum. Class sizes 12-24.
Secondary – Grade 5-12. German curriculum. Class sizes 12-24.
School year – September to June.
Remedial German available from Kindergarten.
English – from grade 2 Japanese from grade 1.
French or Japanese – from grade 6.
Latin – from grade 10.
Full science program.
German Baccalaureat at the end of grade 12.
General Children with sufficient ability in German are accepted in the kindergarten.
German skills on a native level needed for later admission.
The school also offers Japanese Language course. The Seminar for Japanese Language and Culture was established at the German School in 1992. Japanese lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced students; a kanji course, preparation courses for the Japanese Language Proficiency Certificate examination for foreigners, a crash course and business Japanese.
