Bilingual Kids International
Bilingual Kids International Preschool (BKI) is operated by Rob Mathews (Director) and Kumiko Tajima (School Coordinator), both of whom are Australian qualified kindergarten teachers. After working with the childcare team at Curtin University in Western Australia, team research led us to select the Reggio Emilia Approach as the most comprehensive approach to teaching bilingual children. The Reggio Emilia Approach is known as one of the world’s leading Early Childhood Educational practices.
It is very well suited to educating children in both group and individual situations (an important aspect of Japanese based International schools) because the promotion of collaboration and leadership naturally arises from the creative day to day project work that the children do. We strongly believe that this focus provides a vital contribution to delivering competent young learners.
The school accepts students all year round from ages 18 months through to 6 years. Morning class (Main program) runs from 8.45am to 2.00pm. Afternoon class teaches reading, writing and conversation for primary school children. This class runs from 3.30pm to 6.30pm
