Montessori School of Tokyo
The Montessori School of Tokyo is the first Montessori school in Asia to be accredited by the International Montessori Council. Based on the Montessori philosophy, MST’s mission is to “Stimulate curiosity while developing independence in thought and action”.
MST is proud to provide an internationally recognized curriculum for the international student. MST is the only Montessori Elementary School in Japan accepting students from age 2 to 12. With its beginnings as a pre-school/kindergarten in 1993, MST has grown to where it now enrolls over 150 students representing over 35 countries. Montessori trained teachers, come from over 10 countries around the world and are familiar with many different international settings.
The principle of mixed-age classrooms is also very important in Montessori education. Therefore the classrooms are only separated into three age groups: Little People (for 2-3 year olds), Sunshine (for 3-6 year olds) and Elementary (6-12 year olds). Each day at a MST classroom is different from one another, for it pursues the educational needs for all the children. If you are seeking for a fun-filled school that develops your child’s “curiosity to learn”, MST could be the right choice for you.
