International School of the Sacred Heart
The International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo is one of an international group of schools and colleges under the direction of the religious order of the Sacred Heart.
ISSH is a multicultural Catholic school. The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes for 3, 4 and 5 year olds are for boys and girls, while grades 1-12 are for girls only.
The K-12 curriculum develops the whole student, implementing research-based learning that is healthy, safe, engaging, supportive and challenging.
The new building opened in December 2011 features a state of the art gymnasium and mini-gym, the Kindergarten and Junior School classrooms, K/JS library, K/JS art studio, and K/JS music room designed to meet the needs our students.
The school year runs from late August to June. The school’s premises comprise classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, an auditorium, gymnasium, a pottery room, a drama studio, music rooms, art rooms, libraries, a chapel, and a sports field. There is a varied after-school/extra-curricular activities program. Excursions are offered at the beginning of each school year for grades 5-12 and in April for grade 4.
