BankART Studio NYK presents the fifth installment of their exhibition series and the first large-scale solo exhibition of Yukinori Yanagi’s work in Eastern Japan. Yanagi is known for his humorous and powerful art. After moving to New York in 1990, he won the Venice Biennale Aperto with his piece “The World Flag Ant Farm” in 1993. Since returning to Japan he has continued with on-site projects, often focusing on political themes; he has converted a refinery on Inujima Island into an art museum and is currently working on converting an abandoned school in Momoshima. The exhibition covers his 30-year career.
