Yoshitoshi (1839–92) and Kunichika (1835–1900) produced some of the finest Ukiyo-e prints of the Meiji period focusing on the subject of women in everyday life. Capturing the many subtleties of facial expression, social class, occupation, and traditional and new Western fashions, they produced artwork of extraordinary beauty and exquisite coloring. Find an impressive collection of the artists’ works along with those of their masters and apprentices at the Ukiyo-e Ota Memorial Museum of Art.
