Where: Sogo Museum of Art, 2-18-1 Takashima
In a country where cute is king it’s not hard to understand the lasting appeal of The Moomins. The loveable little creatures were created by the Finnish artist Tove Jansson back in 1945 before going on to worldwide fame, no where less so than here in Japan.
2014 is the anniversary of the celebrated creator’s work and it’s being marked with this exhibition that mixes the artist’s life story with that of her most famous creation. The exhibit ends this Sunday, so catch it while you can (If you do miss it, of course, there’s always a chance to lunch with a Moomin…)
