A monthly mish-mash of different creative endeavors, This&That Café has developed a reputation as one of the most diverse and creative events on Tokyo’s arts calendar, with live music and performances from a enviable array of genres, coupled with real-time projections and visual artists.
In a recent interview with Tokyo Weekender, event creator D.H. Rosen describes it as “A place where music and visual arts meld in unexpected collaborations. A forum for artists from afar to meet with local luminaries amidst the dense and eclectic pool of talent in Tokyo.”
Vol. 26 features a jam-packed lineup from a range of genres. “Reggaelation Independence” headline the night and describe their sound as “departing from Tokyo, going to the World via Jamaica” and have created a impressive reputation in the Japanese (and indeed European) reggae world. Also playing on the night will be electronic duo “Emulsion,” the eclectic four-piece “Tecimerico,” “Unusual Club” DJ’s and live-painting artist “Gerutama.”
