Contact Tokyo and partnering musicians invite you to “blast off” with them this weekend, honoring the United States’ first spacewalk. On a Friday fifty-one years ago, American astronaut Edward White – tethered to his spacecraft, of course – stepped outside and floated in space briefly, thus completing the spacewalk just a month prior to Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon.
To commemorate the date, the concert hall is opening up multiple stages to local musicians, as well as music master/maestro Jeff Mills, Berlin’s Henning Baer, and Japan’s Hiroshi Watanabe. Enjoy a night of science fiction, out-of-this-world music, and inspired drinks for the evening. It should go well into the morning, so you should plan missing your last rocket – er, train – back to earth.
The Spacewalk: 51st Anniversary
How much: ¥4,000 Admission, ¥3,500 with flyer, ¥2,500 Under 23, ¥2,000 before 11pm
