Around 40 years ago in the Bulgarian town of Varna on the Black Sea coast, tombs were discovered containing an incredible haul of golden burial ornaments. Subsequently identified as the oldest gold items in the world, the 6,000-year-old objects date back to a time before the pyramids in Egypt were built. This exciting exhibition at the National Museum of Western Art reconstructs the items as they were discovered in their tombs.
