When: 03/06/16 - 26/06/16: All Day
The 18th edition of Japan’s only Academy Awards-accredited short film festival is currently taking place across six venues in Tokyo and Yokohama. There are around 200 short films showing, carefully selected from nearly 6,000 submissions. All are free to watch.
The one that stands out most is arguably Martin Scorsese’s comedy “The Audition” in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro both read for the same part in a Scorsese movie. Other films worth looking out for are Benjamin Cleary’s Oscar-winning short, “Stutterer,” and the romantic comedy “Weighting” by Brie Larson.
There will be showings throughout Tokyo and Kanagawa – Shidax Culture Hall, Laforet Museum in Harajuku, Andaz Tokyo, itscom Studio & Hall in Futakotamagawa, and the Brillia Short Shorts Theater in Yokohama – so check the festival site below for more details.
