When: 12/04/15: All Day

Where: Senso-ji, 2-3-1 Asakusa

Capture a slice of the beauty and tradition of Japan’s Heian period at this traditional ceremony taking place at Asakusa’s Senso-ji temple. The ritual parade is composed of numerous warriors, musicians and children dressed in the period’s classical attire, the main attraction being eight heron-dancers clad in white. The parade originally took place as a prayer for peace after the temple was moved and it continues to be a sight to behold to this day.
