Performing Disaster: Post-3/11 Affect and Representation aims to investigate the effects and influences that the events of 3/11 had on contemporary artists, musicians and filmmakers. The night will feature artist and researcher Jesse Hogan discussing the social role and responsibility of Japanese artists in their response to the disaster and film specialist Luke Cromer presenting on the aspects and implications of the incredible amount of documentary footage produced and available online in the wake of the event. Following the talks will be an improvised musical performance, with dance, drinks and socializing to see out the evening.
