A partnership between Paris’ Musée d’Orsay and the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum brings the works of late-19th Century post-Impressionist, avant-garde collective Les Nabis to Tokyo. Meeting at Académie Julian, the group of young artists would go on to pave the way for 20th Century abstract and non-representational art. Breakouts of the group include Pierre Bonnard, Édouard Vuillard and Maurice Denis, although more than a couple dozen artists made up the collective. Works by influences such as Paul Gaugin will also be on display.
