After his epic performance at this year’s Fuji Rock, which drew the largest crowd at the festival’s dance tent, 21-year-old Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens returns to Japan in October, with gigs lined up for Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo.
The trailblazer has had an excellent year so far, as 2016 kicked off with his collaboration with Throttle, “Waiting,” hitting no. 1 on Beatport via his own Heldeep Records label and again demonstrating the strong demand for his “future house” sound. It’s another cut that shows his skill in working with powerful vocals, and followed on from the immense success of his Tiësto collaboration, “Wombass,” which was subsequently reissued in a vocal form as “The Right Song” with a little help from Natalie La Rose. Along with the massive Shaun Frank and Delaney Jane collab “Shades Of Grey,” it all sets the tone for his much-anticipated debut album (release date not yet announced).
