Mika Ninagawa has garnered incredible acclaim in the worlds of art photography, fashion photography and even film with her directorial efforts SAKURAN and Helter Skelter. Celebrating the career of the idiosyncratic artist to date, the Hara Musuem of Contemporary Art is hosting an extensive show providing an intimate look at the self-image of the photographer. The exhibition is centered around three series of works; noir, an exploration of shadow and darkness, Plant a Tree, in which cherry blossoms were scattered on the surface of rivers, and a series of monochrome self-portraits taken throughout her career.
