Taking the death of manga and anime godfather Tezuka Osamu in 1989 as its starting point, this exhibition explores the rapid development of manga, anime and games as an integrated and comprehensive form of expression. Everything from heroes and their worlds, the rise and diversification of different production techniques and the way this dominant form of popular culture has been shaped by society and vice versa is covered across its various sections. This ambitious exhibition aims to present a comprehensive survey of modern Japanese manga, anime and games and is a must for any fans of the country’s most prolific forms of media.
