For over sixty years, Jonas Mekas has been a leader in avant-garde film-making. Today, he is 93 years old and still making waves with his critiques and progressive ideas on the artistic front. He dedicated his life to film and expression, so the touring gallery and display of works covering his whole life isn’t to be missed. On weekends, the venue will host screenings of some of his short films. The gallery will be open daily for visitors to peruse some pieces. Known for his “diary films” that contained thoughts on the wars across Europe and the world, and narratives exploring stop motion will require full attention and devotion to the subject.
Having made close to a hundred films, won dozens of awards, and inspired countless other artists, Jonas Mekas’ most recent display of philosophy promises to be a thought-provoking, unforgettable gallery.
