While almost everyone has seen American-born, London-based artist James McNeill Whistler’s most famous work, Whistler’s Mother, less well known is the late 19th century artist’s admiration for Japanese art. This comprehensive exhibition contains over 130 paintings from the artist, from his time as leader of the Aesthetic Movement to his more Japanese-influenced work.
