The National Film Center continues its tour through the history of film via classic posters by taking a look at the rise and fall of musical cinema. First arriving on the scene in the twenties thanks to the advent of film sound technology, Musical cinema quickly gained popularity making stars of the likes of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Gene Kelley. In this exhibition, posters from timeless classics including Singing in the Rain, Annie Get Your Gun and An American in Paris reveal the changing fortunes of the genre.
