When: 01/08/15 - 02/08/15: All Day
Where: Motosu Lake Side Camping Ground, Motosu Fujikawaguchiko
For something a little different to the usual summer festival fare currently taking place, head out to stunning Lake Motosu, situated in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, for a weekend of films, music and fun at the brand new Kohan Film and Music Festival. Hosted by film director Eiji Uchida, there’s a great selection of recent indie cinema hits to enjoy in the tranquil surroundings. Check out “100 Yen Love,” winner of the Japanese Splash section at last year’s Tokyo Film Festival and this year’s Yubari Film Festival winner Makeup Room, a look behind the curtain at the highs and lows of an adult video shoot. Uchida’s own “Greatful Dead” will also be showing, a deliciously black comedy and sharp satire taking aim at Japan’s rapidly aging population. There are many more films on offer alongside bands and music acts, which will be playing across the weekend, and special guests including many of the film’s director’s and stars.
