As part of Japan’s annual harvest festivities rice is offered to the Gods each November in order to receive good luck and blessings. The lucky Gods down at Koami Shrine are customarily presented with freshly brewed rice-wine, Doburoku, along with the newly harvested rice. On the 27th this sacrificial offering is then distributed among visitors to the temple. Along with the sake you can enjoy shrine music, traditional dance and pick up a special Mimizuku-charm – a good-luck owl weaved out of reed.
