Painter and film artist Takashi Ishida has been garnering increasing attention and awards for his contemporary and experimental film, 2D, and installation work since around 2001. Ishida has combined his films, composed of handmade drawings shot with a stop-frame animation technique, with architecture, light and sound to create impressive, immersive installations. Charting the artist’s development up to the present, the Yokohama Museum of Art’s exhibition is the first large-scale exhibition dedicated solely to the artist.
