59th Tokyo Traditional Crafts Fair

When: 13/01/16 - 18/01/16: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm

Where: Takashimaya Shinjuku, 5-24-2 Sendagaya

Up on the 11th floor of Takashimaya Shinjuku, the 59th Tokyo Traditional Crafts Fair is displaying jaw-dropping pieces of Edo-style ceramics, wooden pieces, jewelry, furniture, dolls, fine art, glassware, fashion, and sculptures. Rooted in traditional processes, the art on display is a look into Japanese cultural history and craftsmanship practices from around the country, passed down through generations.

Workshops are open simultaneously for inspired visitors to try their hand at working with natural items and creating their own original pieces. Souvenirs and English-speaking staff will be available so guests can take home a piece of art themselves, and better understand the history of the rich traditions preserved in Japanese arts and crafts.
