When: 02/08/14: 10:30 am - 9:00 pm
If you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for casual American fare (or even a chance to drop in on a Popeye’s Chicken), US Army Camp Zama will be celebrating its 55th Annual Bon Odori Festival. Most of the time, the military facilities are closed to civilians and those without friends in the service, so this event is a good opportunity to eat, drink, and make merry on-base. There will be plenty of food, live music from the military bands, a DJ, games for the kids, and fireworks that go off at 20:30. Don’t forget to bring a photo ID to get in, and you should expect a bit of a wait at the gate for the security check. The base is about a 15-minute walk from Sobudaimae Station on the Odakyu Line or Sobudaishita Station on the Sagami Line.
