Looking to experience the wide world of sake in a central Tokyo location? Meishu Center has you covered.

Or will soon, anyway. The self-styled “sake theme park” based in Hamamatsucho is opening a branch in Ochanomizu this July.

To celebrate the opening of the Ochanomizu location, which is a five-minute walk from Ochanomizu Station and is also close to tourist hotspot Akihabara, Meishu Center is running a series of promotions, including a crowdfunding campaign which gives contributors the opportunity to get in on opening day and meet the brewers behind some of Meishu Center’s 120 varieties.

No, that’s not a typo: Meishu Center carries 120 sakes from 41 brewers around the nation, and as well as selling bottles, has an on-site tasting area and English-speaking experts to advise sake fans and beginners alike on flavors, food pairings and more.

A veritable sake theme park indeed.

Keep an eye on Meishu Center’s Facebook page for more news on the new location and prepare your taste buds for July.
