To celebrate its recent opening, Cedar The Chop House & Bar held a complimentary dinner for members of Tokyo Weekender’s Insider’s Club on Friday, May 26. Ten guests enjoyed a delicious five-course meal at the restaurant, which opened on March 30 inside the new Remm Roppongi hotel.

The concept behind Cedar’s menu is that all dishes are “chopped,” whether that means a starter of tuna and avocado chopped into small cubes and piled high atop a halved avo, or a main dish of grilled Australian lamb chops. Innovative twists come in the form of popcorn being part of a smoked chicken and honey mustard appetizer, and a dessert of ice cream with cones and chocolate slabs, which the waiter smashes up in a kind of arty performance before serving.

We also enjoyed an acqua pazza poached fish dish that comes with sweet tomatoes, olives and mussels; and a giant slab of Angus T-bone steak, which was perfectly grilled on the outside, rare on the inside, and accompanied by a sweet onion sauce.

Cedar plans to shake up its menu every three months, so you can look forward to these tasty dishes and more for their summer lineup (watch the video for a sneak peek at what’s on offer).
