Afrojack and Pendulum are just a few of the latest big-name additions to this years Hacienda Festival.

The festival, which takes place at Oiso’s sprawling bubble-era Prince Hotel during Golden Week, is now in it’s second year and, judging by the line-up so far, it has grown considerably since 2012, when we saw the likes of The Charlatans and The Whip take centre stage.

The focus for 2013 seems to be firmly on dance music, with an impressive bill of new and not-so-new DJs and live acts from Japan and around the world. Drum & bass heavyweights Pendulum play Saturday night, joining Digitalism and John Digweed at the top of the bill, while the platinum-selling, double Grammy-winning Afrojack tops Sunday’s roster alongside the legendary Happy Mondays (UPDATE: Happy Mondays have cancelled).

The large number of newly added domestic acts will be sure to please Japanese festival-goers, with the likes of Taku Takahashi of M-Flo, Takkyu Ishino and Ken Ishii appealing to the club crowd, and two of Japan’s buzz bands The Telephones and [champagne] sure to attract an indie following.

Sadly for some, early-bird tickets sold out quickly, meaning you will now have to splash-out (a still very reasonable) ¥8,900 for a day ticket or ¥16,000 for a two-day ticket. If you’re planning to make a real weekend of it and want to rub shoulders (and noses?!) with Bez and the gang, a hotel package is apparently soon to be available which guarantees a room in the hotel and access to the VIP all-night event. We’ll keep you up to date on that as we get more info.

For a full lineup, including 808 State, James Zabiela, John Digweed, a Peter Hook DJ set and many more, see the Official Website.
