Big Beach Festival has added Basement Jaxx and Erol Alkan to an already pretty exciting 2013 lineup which this year includes the Big Beat genre’s main man, Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), who couldn’t make it over to Japan last time.

The festival is not happening until Saturday 1st June but we’re ready for some hot weather and after the Chemical Brothers entertained us at Big Beach in 2012, we can’t wait for more… The beach near Maihama (Makuhari Seaside Park, Chiba) will be the place to be once more, we’re sure.

British/Japanese producer/DJ Maya Jane Coles – going from strength to strength since scooping the  best newcomer award at the Ibiza DJ Awards 2011 – is another must see act on the lineup, and will surely bring the summer sounds that have made her quite the sensation in Europe’s party islands. Basement Jaxx closed Fuji Rock in 2009 and have DJ’d a few times since but it will be fantastic to see them over here with a live set for the first time in three years.

UPDATE (Mar 1): Ellen Allien and Sasha added to the bill along with Damian Lazarus/System of Survival.

Tickets are on sale at ¥9,000 (or ¥17,000 for a pair) online from eplus and in store from Tower Records.
