K-1 Rising 2012 – World Grand Prix Final 16 2012

The K-1 Grand Prix, the heavyweight class of kickboxing’s big show – known for its aggressive and high paced style, with many KOs – is coming back to Tokyo’s amazing Kokugigan Hall, in Ryogoku, which is perhaps a little more famous for sumo.

K-1 has recently reorgainzed itself and now led by the Japanese superstar MASATO. This year’s tournament involves many new faces from all over the world, combined with K-1 and Pride legends such as Mirko Cro Cop (pictured at the top, in his trademark shorts which represent his country, Croatia) and current top Japanese fighters Genji Umeno, Hiromi Hamada and Makoto Uehara, together with Indo-Japanese Singh Jaideep share the bill.

On October 14th, 16 world class heavy weight fighters will fight for the eight spots in the Grand Prix Final later this year, with many other big names from different weight classes (such as Umeno) fighting it out in the ‘Super Fight’ series on the same big fight night.
